Savor Here and Now

Mac Powell encourages, “Don’t miss out on where you are.” He’s learned to savor the here and now rather than getting lost in regrets of the past or the uncertainties of the future.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

– Matthew 6:34 NIV

Do you find yourself constantly looking ahead or behind? Do you worry about what’s next, or dwell on what could have been? God calls you to live in the present, to find joy and purpose in each moment He gives you.

Let Jesus’ words in our verse today inspire you to focus on today and trust that God has your future in His hands.

When you shift your focus to the present, you open your heart to experiencing God’s presence and blessings in real time.

To embrace the present, start by practicing gratitude. Each day, take a moment to thank God for the blessings around you. Notice the small things—a kind word, a beautiful sunset, the laughter of a loved one. By cultivating a heart of gratitude, you begin to see the beauty in your current season, no matter how difficult it may seem.

Another practical step is to be mindful of God’s presence throughout your day. Take breaks to pray, read scripture, or simply sit in silence, acknowledging that God is with you. This helps you to stay grounded and aware of His guidance and love.

By embracing the present, you align yourself with God’s will. Decide to live today fully, for it is a precious gift from God.

Today’s One Thing

Pray: “Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of today. Help me to embrace each moment and to find joy in the present. Teach me to trust You with my future and to let go of past regrets. Open my eyes to see Your blessings around me and to appreciate the beauty in every stage of life. Fill my heart with gratitude and mindfulness of Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
