Seasons and Fruitfulness
Inevitably, life has seasons. One season ends, another begins, and suddenly, what felt familiar shifts beneath your feet. Some transitions excite you, while others leave you searching for stability. In every season, one truth remains—when you stay connected to Jesus, you are never without the nourishment your soul needs. He is the vine, and you are the branch. Apart from Him, life feels dry and fruitless, but with Him, you grow, even in seasons of change.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
– John 15:5 ESV
A branch doesn’t survive on its own. Cut off from the vine, it withers, losing the source that once fed it. The same is true for you. The strength to endure, the grace to adapt, and the wisdom to move forward all come from staying connected to Christ. When life shifts, you might be tempted to rely on your own strength, scrambling for control, but Jesus calls you to remain in Him.
Transitions test your faith, but they also reveal your growth. Staying in Christ isn’t just about believing in Him; it’s about constantly relying on Him. Prayer, worship, and time in God’s Word are not optional extras. They are the very things that keep you thriving. The deeper your roots in Christ, the stronger you stand when change occurs.
Jesus is the vine and source of life.
Fruit grows over time. A branch doesn’t produce grapes overnight, nor do you bear spiritual fruit without seasons of growth. Change may feel uncomfortable, but God is working in you. You are being pruned, shaped, and strengthened for what’s ahead. When you remain in Jesus, you don’t just survive transitions; you flourish through them.
You don’t have to resist change or fear what’s next. God asks you to remain faithful. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He won’t leave you wandering through seasons of uncertainty. Stay connected to the vine, and He will sustain you. Even in change, you will bear fruit that glorifies God.
Today’s One Thing
Thank Jesus for being the Vine, and declare, “I am connected to Jesus, my true source of life; I will bear fruit because of Him.”
