See Yourself on the Other Side

When have you felt like you just couldn’t make it? Perhaps the season you are in is difficult and you think you can’t endure it, and yet, you hold on to hope.

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
─ Psalm 27:13 NKJV

The psalmist in the verse today blatantly admits he would have lost the fight, given up hope and quit, BUT … He hoped against all odds. He trusted God. He refused to let go of his belief that God would make a way for him to come out of the situation to experience God’s goodness in this lifetime.

Look up to God, where your hope comes from.

When you’re up against a struggle that seems to have shattered your dream, and your hope feels like the circumstances at hand have stomped out every imaginable positive outcome –

  1. Look to God, where your hope comes from.
  2. Invite the Holy Spirit to help you examine your heart.
  3. Clean up the negative thoughts with His help.
  4. Refuse to lose heart by believing God is able to bring the answers you need.

Express yourself by speaking positive truths of who He is and what you believe He can do. I will not lose heart. I believe I will see Your goodness in the land of the living.

Now, hold tight to God with renewed hope, relying on Him to not just see you through but to bring you to the other side of the situation.

Today’s One Thing

Take time today when you pray to read Psalm 27:13 to yourself. Make it a breath prayer. Breathe in hope from the verse and breathe out all the thoughts you’re having that are contrary to God’s promise in the verse. Do this exercise three times right now.
