Share Resurrection Life with Great Urgency

Jesus said to [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.

─ John 11:25-26 ESV

Richard Baxter said, “I preached as never sure to preach again, and as a dying man to dying men.” These words penned by the English Puritan church leader, poet, hymn-writer, theologian, and controversialist in the 1600s demonstrates the depths of his passionate pursuit to share the truth of resurrection life through Jesus Christ and should echo in our own hearts today.

In our verse today, Jesus was saying that the resurrection is better than life because physical life can end, but eternal life remains. “Life is the power to exist, but resurrection is the power to conquer all, even death itself” (John 11:25b, footnote, TPT).

You may not stand before a congregation on Sunday and preach, but as a follower of Christ, you are compelled to share the message of resurrection life. Our desire for every person on the earth to know Christ should compel us to urgently share the truth of His resurrection life.

“Now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2 NIV). In everything he did, Paul always considered what his actions communicated about Christ. As a Christ follower, God has given you a sphere of influence to share this great revelation.

It’s important to remember that passionate pursuit to share expressed by Baxter. It’s not just what you say, but you are a living example. Your life speaks into the lives of others about living for Christ.

In what ways will you share resurrection life with others?
