Spiritually Nutritious
Attending a youth-filled church service can be awe-inspiring, especially seeing young minds, hearts and souls gravitate toward alignment with God’s Word. It’s invigorating and rewarding to see young individuals begin to trust in the Lord and walk by faith as they begin to understand that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
– John 14:6 ESV
Spiritual growth, like physical growth, doesn’t occur overnight. It takes time and diligence to grow and spiritually mature. Unlike infomercials selling a product that promotes a particular quick cure-all for weight loss or building muscle, solid spiritual growth requires Bible study, prayer and listening to the Holy Spirit. Changes begin to happen when you commit to these practices.
Do you use Scripture to encourage and avoid temptations for yourself and others?
The Bible is the source for nurturing believers. Through its teaching and stories, God’s Word provides encouraging guidance, wisdom, hope and comfort for all who seek Him. It is the source of understanding true forgiveness and growing spiritually.
Reading God’s Word is the first step in understanding forgiveness and developing spiritually.
The Bible says, “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33 ESV).
When you feel confused, trust and rely on the Lord, instead of yourself. He created you and offers you abundant life. He will guide you when you align your thoughts and actions with His truth.
You can grow spiritually by diving into His Word and seeking His understanding. Your actions will lead you to a spiritually nutritious life.
Today’s One Thing
Read or listen to I John 1:5-7. Reflect on the verses and ask yourself how you strengthen your walk with God.
