Strength in Quietness

Worship leader Brandon Lake has found that his most intimate times with God aren’t always in church or through music, but in silence and solitude. “My driving time is probably my most holy time,” Brandon shares, explaining how intentional quiet moments have helped him connect with God on a deeper level

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.”

– Isaiah 30:15 NIV

With so many distractions and demands on your attention, quiet moments can feel rare, and yet it’s often in those still moments that God speaks most clearly.

In the quiet moments, God speaks to your heart, bringing peace, strength, and clarity.

Isaiah 30:15 encourages you to embrace stillness and rest in God’s presence, knowing that He is your source of strength. It’s not about how much we do for God, but how much time we spend with God. You don’t need a perfect setting or uninterrupted hours to experience God’s presence. Whether it’s during your commute, a walk in nature, or a quiet moment in your home, God is with you, ready to strengthen you in the stillness.

When life feels loud, take time to pause and listen for God’s voice. Just as Brandon turns his driving time into a sacred space, you can create moments of quiet throughout your day where you invite God in. Rest in His presence, knowing that His peace and strength are always available to you.

Today’s One Thing

Pray: “Father, help me to embrace quietness and trust in You. In the stillness, remind me of Your presence and give me the strength I need for each day. Teach me to seek moments of rest in You, where I can experience Your peace and hear Your voice more clearly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
