Surrender All to the Father’s Plans

Sometimes the things God takes you through can seem scary. We tend to fear the unknown, the unexplained or the things out of our control. But that is where the Father does His very best work.

The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.”
─ Luke 1:30-31 ESV

Mary had questions. She asked how she would have a baby without having known a man. The angel explained how it would happen, but she still had a lot of questions. She probably wondered what people would think and how all the details would work out. But, she said, “Be it unto me, according to your purpose and plan (Luke 1:38).

Let go and give God control.

Every single person has free will. We can fully surrender our plans to God, or lead our own lives apart from Him. Mary could have refused to be a part of God’s salvation plan. She could have tried to control the situation and things might have turned out differently for her. God’s plan would have gone forward to bring salvation to the world, but the story may not have included her.

When you let go and give God control of your life, then His will for you begins to come together and shape your life in the picture He planned from the beginning of time.

What do you need to let go of today? If you’re willing to fully surrender your will to His, pray this prayer. God, whatever you desire for my life, I accept it and embrace it. May your purpose and plans be done in my life starting today.
