Taking the Next Step
Taking the next step in life can sometimes feel like you’re standing on the edge of a cliff, unsure of what lies beyond, your heart pounding with excitement and apprehension, and not wanting to make any mistakes. But in these moments of transition, you grow the most. Moving forward toward a life lived with purpose, you find your true strength and faith tested.
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
– Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV
God accompanies you at every step, especially when existing doors close, and new opportunities avail themselves. It is easy to feel discouraged or abandoned when you lose something that you have spent time and energy cultivating. Yet, God promises that His plans for you are good.
A job change, saying goodbye to a relationship, moving to a new city, or starting a new phase in your personal life can be challenging. But God sees your faithfulness. He knows the efforts you put into your daily walk with Him. When change occurs, don’t look at it as a mark of failure but instead as a divine redirection. Trust that God will open a door, one that aligns with His purpose for you.
You are strong and courageous because God is with you.
Trust that God’s plans are higher than yours, and His timing is perfect. Embrace the new opportunities He presents and allow His strength to carry you through. Just as He promised Joshua, He promises you: He will never leave you or forsake you. This assurance frees you to step boldly into the future.
As you take your next steps, God is with you and has prepared your avenue for your next steps. Even when you feel uncertain or afraid, trust in Him. Lean into His promises, and let His word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.
Today’s One Thing
As you pray through your circumstances, affirm with an audible voice, “I trust in God’s plan. I am strong and courageous, for God is with me.”
