The Great Restorer

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

─ Psalm 23:3 ESV

The Great Restorer

More than a decade ago, Ronald started restoring old homes. It wasn’t easy getting started and he made it a point to learn from his mistakes along the way. Eventually he earned an esteemed reputation. Those in his community who wanted something restored, rebuilt and made stronger than it was before, called him and willingly waited for him to be available to do their restoration.

God is the great restorer. Our verse today is a promise that as long as you willingly follow Him, He will restore your soul. As long as you allow Him to guide you, you’ll find contentment. That doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges, but He knows the path that will bring you safely to the places He’s prepared for you. He knows what your heart needs to be restored. He knows how to rebuild all the broken places where the difficulties of life have taken a toll on you.

What is the spiritual condition of your heart? Rebellion and disobedience actually work against you. God has our best interest in mind. Following Him brings exactly what you need, when you need it.

Today’s One Thing

Are there some places in your heart that need restoration? Lean into God for His mercy and guidance. Ask Him to provide you with wisdom and a willing heart to carry out those internal renovations you need in order to honor Him.
