The Power of Music

How often do you have a song rise up in your heart that you haven’t heard in years, much less thought about? You might not even realize you remember the words until you start singing it.

Music moves us. Singing is beneficial to your spirit, soul and body. Music is deeply rooted in our souls. And as a follower of Jesus, it is a powerful way to encourage yourself and others along the journey of faith.

68 times in the book of Psalms the Lord commands us to sing. When you sing to the Lord, you proclaim His salvation, declare his Lordship and bring Him worship!

Singing to the Lord imprints the message of His love in your mind and soul. Worshipping God changes you. Whether your heart cries out, “Create in me a pure heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10 NIV), or joyfully shouts, “He will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15), the power of music that exalts God lifts your spirit and fills you with His peace.
