The Secret to Living Richly

You are significant. God wonderfully made you. You have developed into the person you are because of experiences you’ve had. Some experiences were beautiful and valued, while others were dreadfully painful. Through it all, you should not be held hostage by the past or be concerned about the future. God has a plan for you, and it requires you to have faith to believe He will take care of you so you may live a vibrant life.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
– Colossians 3:16 ESV

Just like a child needs proper instruction early in life or a young teen needs driver’s education, new believers need correct guidance in their new walk in the Christian faith. As believers grow in their faith and understanding of the Lord, Paul encourages the allowance of God’s Word to dwell in them deeply and abundantly. Paul shared being a Christian isn’t about keeping a set of rules, knowing what is right to eat or observing a specific day as the sabbath. It’s about believing in the deity of Christ, who came to earth through a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for humanity’s sin and rose again three days later. It’s about snuggling up to His Word with your best-loved blanket or in your favorite chair to glean insight and wisdom as you read through the Bible and pray for understanding.

Basking in God’s Word provides a solid and absolute structure that leads to a vibrant life in Christ.

Have you been in a situation where things have gone awry and wish someone would have told you to anticipate various obstacles so things would run smoothly? The Bible is the living Word of God. It is reliable and trustworthy. It will help you live a life richly filled with God’s presence.

There are many answers to life given within the Bible and many instructions to help you live an abundant life through your faith in Christ. But it requires action from you to open His Word, read it and pray through it. Your faith in Christ is the first step to eternal life, but your actions to learn more about His abundance are within the pages of the Bible.
