Trust God in Uncertain Times

Without question, life has so many variables of actions and reactions that it can often involve a series of twists and turns, like a carnival ride, leaving you unsure of what to expect next. During these sways and ups and downs, hold on to the timeless truth that offers comfort and stability: Trust in God.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

– Isaiah 26:3-4 ESV

God brings peace, not a fleeting sense of calm but His deep, abiding peace that withstands life’s twists and turns. This peace comes from fixing your mind on God, grounding your thoughts, and anchoring your heart in His steadfast love and faithfulness.

When life’s twists and turns are enormous, anxious thoughts can creep into your mind. These emotions, though natural, can pull you away from the peace God offers. Instead of succumbing to anxiety, make a conscious choice to redirect your thoughts towards God’s promises. Reflect on His faithfulness in your past, recalling times when He provided, protected, and guided you through previous challenges. These memories are powerful reminders that the same God who was with you then is with you now.

God’s wisdom surpasses all understanding, and His plans are greater than yours.

Reading God’s Word and praying serve as a safety belt for the inertia of life’s roller coaster ride. Use prayer to pour out your fears and uncertainties to Him, seek His guidance and reassurance, and use Scripture to immerse yourself in truths and promises. Scripture reading and prayer strengthen your relationship with God and help realign your thoughts to His truth.

God is your everlasting rock. He is unchanging, immovable, and eternally faithful. When you trust in Him, you can navigate life’s uncertainties with a peace that transcends understanding and confidence that He is in control.

Today’s One Thing

As you read God’s Word and pray, affirm in your heart, “I trust in the Lord forever, for He is my everlasting rock. In Him, I find perfect peace.”
