Two Roads – Life and Death
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.”
─ Deuteronomy 30:19
Vicky heard his cries and raced toward the sound. Oh no, what has he done now, she thought.
She found him sitting on the floor whimpering, his fingers caught in the spokes of his older brother’s bicycle. She pushed away the urge to scold him, for the moment, and began to work his fingers loose from the spokes.
“I’m sorry, Mommy,” he said in between gulps and sniffs.
Once his fingers were free, she carried him to the bathroom and cleaned his cuts and scrapes and said, “When you obey Mommy, you are happy and don’t get hurt. There are reasons we have house rules – like playing with your brother’s things without permission, right?” Collyn nodded his head up and down and then reached to hug her.
There are always two paths before you – God’s way of obedience or the way of rebellion and destruction. Each choice you make is a decision for life and blessing, or death and destruction. Choose God’s path each day.
Today’s One Thing
Are you standing at the crossroad of decision? What can you do right now to ensure that you choose God’s path of blessing and life?
