What Time Is It?

Do you find that busyness or chaos surrounds you, especially if you have a ton of emails to work through, engage in any social media, listen to the news ever so slightly or have a to-do list a mile long? Throughout the years, technology and other advancements have simplified matters, but they have seamlessly compressed and raised our expectations to do more and focus differently. Simply put – life is busy!

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
─ Psalms 46:10 ESV

Perhaps an easy but profound assertion you can make is to be still and concentrate on the fullness of God. Give Him your full attention by quieting your mind and calming the directions you are being pulled. Being present with the Lord allows your attention to focus on the Spirit’s leading and increases your sensitivity to the Lord’s guidance.

What time is it? It is time to be still and give God your full attention.

A fully focused moment with the Lord strengthens your relationship with Him.
He desires for you to be in His presence so He can provide you with peace and confidence without distractions.
Diving into attentive moments with the Lord increases your trust and faith in Him.
Your relationship with the Lord helps you to use Him as your filter to shed the chaos and prioritize the important items.

Quieting the mind and focusing on the Lord is like being in a crowded shopping mall or a stadium on game day. The noise is all around you, but when your attention is focused on the Lord, the crowd’s noise seems distant and non-distractive, and your attention is spot-on where it needs to be. Give the Lord your full attention before engaging in your daily actions so you can have peace and clear thinking.

Today’s One Thing
Be still and quiet your mind, bringing your honest and open requests to the Lord, focusing on Scripture (see 2 Timothy 3:16), writing down any thoughts given to you by the Spirit and giving the Lord praise.
