When Your Path is Uncertain

When your day-to-day or week-to-week feels uncertain, it’s easy for questions and emotions to swirl around in your heart and mind. Do you crave clarity but hold on to the undesired uncertainty? It feels strange. Do you find yourself clenching your fists instead of seeking answers from the Lord?

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
– 2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

Moments of uncertainty are an invitation to lean into who God is and trust Him fully.
Think about when a baby learns to walk. Eventually they have to let go. The same is true for you as you learn to walk by faith. You have to let go of control and trust God.

Naturally, you may feel more comfortable relying on what you can see and plan, but your Heavenly Father calls you to something greater. Consider Abraham, who left everything familiar to follow God into an unknown land. He couldn’t see the destination but believed in God’s promise. That same call to trust applies to you.

You can step forward in faith, even when the way seems unclear. Choose to trust that God sees what you can’t. His Word reminds you that “His thoughts are higher than your thoughts, and His ways are higher than your ways” (Isaiah 55:9 ESV).

Acknowledge God in your uncertainty and allow Him to lead.

We all have moments where we wrestle with doubt or uncertainty. Even Peter, when walking on water toward Jesus, hesitated when he focused on the wind instead of Jesus. Yet, Jesus reached out to Peter and grabbed him. When doubt creeps in, fix your focus on Jesus. Let His promises steady your steps and calm your heart.

When you can’t see the path, remind yourself that God is with you, guiding your steps and strengthening your faith. He doesn’t just lead you through uncertainty; He uses it to draw you closer to Him.

Today’s One Thing
Trust in the Lord, and say to yourself, “I walk by faith, trusting God to guide my steps all the time.  I release my control and rest in His perfect plan.”
