Window of Hope

“Faith goes up the stairs that love has built and looks out the windows which hope has opened.” ~ Charles Spurgeon

Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
– Psalm 33:22 ESV

What are you hoping for today? Have you mostly given up? Do you feel like your long-time prayers have gone unanswered? Or haven’t been answered the way you’d like, and you’re discouraged? These are natural human responses, but God is the God of hope. The opposite of hope is despair. God’s love draws us up and out of despair. He gives us hope in our challenging situations.

Faith is hanging on to the rail of God’s promises as you take the next step toward hope.

Faith is trusting in the love of a holy God who knows your needs and the needs of your loved ones. Faith is trusting His timing and believing He has your best interest in mind.

Taking the next step requires strength, even more so if you’re in an uphill situation. Lean on Him, and you’ll make it to the second step. Then taking the third step builds confidence for the next. Soon, the sunshine breaks through and you are looking out windows of hope once again.

Today’s One Thing

Pray and then look up a Bible verse that speaks to your situation. Write it down and put it where you can read it daily. Lean on God’s truth, strength and love to take the next step.
