Your Winning Weapon

Satan is a strategic planner, and he is known for twisting truths about God’s Word. When you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, God gives you authority over the enemy through Jesus, and you are protected. Recognizing the enemy’s tactics is essential to your daily healthy life. You are God’s child, and the enemy doesn’t like it.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
─ I Peter 5:8 ESV

It is not uncommon to have conversations with yourself— especially about processing daily reminders or achieving objectives. Sometimes it includes your “to-do” list – make bank deposit, clean dishes, call Tracy, pick up groceries, read articles, prepare dinner … and the list goes on.

Then, there are the other conversations with yourself when you have been hurt, overlooked, devalued or when you are tired, overconfident, bored, prideful or tempted. The enemy often uses these latter conversations to twist and confuse you. He wants to steal your confidence in knowing the difference between productive conversations and those infiltrated with partial truths or direct lies.

Through Jesus, you have authority over the enemy!

The enemy of your soul has twisted the truth since the beginning of time. He works to interrupt the relationship you have with your Heavenly Father. But you have the best answer for the enemy’s tactics.

“God is not the author of confusion, but of peace …” (1 Cor 14:33, ESV). Through Jesus, you have the authority to acknowledge the enemy’s tactics and use God’s Word as your winning weapon.

Today’s One Thing
When conversing with yourself, acknowledge if the conversation is healthy and aligned with God’s Word. If not, pray and ask the Lord to replace all sinful and destructive thoughts with His Word. Read Hebrews 4:12 and begin journaling and meditating on who God says you are.
