You’ve Got People

A father told his oldest son, a senior in high school, “You and your brother are on the same team; we’re family! He’s going to be a freshman at your high school. You’re his person, so you better make sure people treat him right.”

And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”

─ 2 Corinthians 6:18 ESV

We all have moments in our lives when we need someone – someone who will:

Stand up for us.

Encourage us.

Tell us the truth.

Stand united for one another as the family of God.

If you follow Christ, you have people! The family of God should be there for one another. God desires to see His family come together, united in faith. God has promised to be a father to you! He claims you as his own! You belong to him!

If you don’t feel like you have people, then ask God to divinely connect you with people who will love you unconditionally and stand in faith with you over the course of your journey. Choose to be willing and obedient to be His person to those He gives you to love, as well.

Today’s One Thing

Say this prayer: Thank you, Father, for sending me people – your people, who speak life and wisdom into my life just when I need it. Thank you for the ones who pray for me. Help me to be a support to them by lifting them up.
