Cantata Musical Celebration

12/16/2012 @ 10:00 AM

Christmas Cantata“And Glory Shone Around” by Lloyd Larson and Douglas Wagner
Sunday, December 16, 2012 – 10:00 a.m.
@ North Scottsdale United Methodist Church
Scottsdale, AZ — North Scottsdale United Methodist Church invites the community to enjoy the spirit of the Advent season by attending their Annual Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 16th, at 10:00 am. The Cantata will take place in their 600 seat sanctuary located on their campus at 11735 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ, 85254
This year the Cantata’s Advent theme is focused on Christ as the Light of the world, and will include a special musical presentation by the NSUMC Chancel Choir entitled: “And Glory Shone Around” complete with narration and a full orchestral accompaniment.
With a blending of new melodies and familiar Christmas carols, this work recalls the dark days of anguish for ancient Israel, only to give way to the dawning of a new day of light and love when Christ was born. Through the scripturally-based narration and music, singers and listeners are once again invited to the humble birthplace of the Savior.
You are invited to come and be moved by this wonderful celebration of music and word as Narrator Winston Vineyard, Organist Donna Marie Hartley and the NSUMC Chancel Choir and Orchestra present… “And Glory Shone Around!”
North Scottsdale United Methodist Church celebrates the love of God through Christ by having traditional Sunday services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. NSUMC offers adults weekly Bible studies, Sunday school and choir.
