National Day of Empathy at the Arizona State Capitol
03/05/2019 @ 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM MST
On Tuesday, March 5th, community leaders and organizations will gather at the Arizona State Capitol for the National Day of Empathy.
Each year for the National Day of Empathy, organizations across the country activate for a single day of action to spotlight their statewide and local efforts to highlight the urgency of criminal justice reform.
Local nonprofit Reinventing Reentry is partnering with national organization #cut50 (http://www.cut50.org) to host the Arizona event. Together, we can create empathy on a massive scale for millions of Americans behind bars and their loved ones by bringing impacted people and their families together with elected officials.
Our Arizona focus this year is on jobs and fair chances for employment for those who have been incarcerated. If you are an Arizona employer or organization who is willing to give all Arizonans a fair chance at employment, housing, eduction, and opportunity to contribute to society, please sign and share the Fair Chance Arizona pledge here: http://www.reinventingreentry.org/fair-chance-az.html
