Finding joy in difficult times

Dear Friend,

When I think about celebrations, I picture laughter, conversation and fellowship. If I could sum it up in a word, it would be this—joy. That’s why I’ve had 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 on my mind lately, which says:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Rejoice, pray and give thanks. While this year has been a challenging one, the stories in this newsletter remind us of the importance of these three actions.

God’s incredible presence with Breanna, which you read about on page 1, is a story worth rejoicing over. Prayers from supporters like you continue to fuel incredible ministry opportunities, like the Ultimate Baby Shower recapped on page 4.

These stories are just a few of the reasons we can stand together to give thanks, even in the difficult circumstances going on in the world.

Your support provides a tangible means for so many to live out the charge of God’s Word to rejoice, pray and give thanks. Thank you for your generous partnership to help others experience hope in Jesus. I’m so grateful!

Yours in Christ,

Evan Carlson, President
