Finding Personal Worship
CAIN on Bringing Faith into Daily Life
For CAIN, a contemporary Christian band made up of siblings—Taylor, Logan, and Madison Cain—worship is woven into the fabric of their daily lives, even when those lives are chaotic and busy.
CAIN talked with us about what personal worship looks like for each of them, how their faith stays rooted through family life, and how they’ve learned to find moments with God even when life feels overwhelming.
Whether they’re performing in front of a crowd, juggling family responsibilities, or taking a moment of quiet prayer, CAIN has found ways to stay connected to God. Worship doesn’t always look the same for everyone, but it’s the heart behind it that matters. For CAIN, worship has become about finding those precious moments in their everyday lives and making them count.
Madison Cain kicked off the conversation by sharing how worship evolved for the band. “We work on most Sundays, so worship looks different for us now. It’s not that traditional Sunday morning experience in a church with everybody there, but we try to go to whatever local church is around when we perform Sunday nights. It helps bring that sense of normalcy and community. I think no matter where we are, we need to feel that we belong within the body of Christ, so we make it work.”
Worship doesn’t always have to follow a perfect formula; it’s about maintaining that connection to God and His people in whatever way you can.
“If you wait for the perfect moment, it’s gone.” ~Taylor Cain
Finding Worship in Simple Moments
In this current season of life, Taylor has learned to integrate worship into the everyday. “Lately, I’ve been listening to an audio Bible while I’m doing stuff around the house—whether I’m cleaning, doing chores, or even taking a bath. I try to bring God into my everyday activities because this is a season where I just don’t have the time to sit down with my coffee and do a cute little devotional like I used to in college. If you wait for the perfect moment, it’s gone. You’re not going to have that perfect moment, so you talk to Him when you can, and it works.”
This is something many of us can relate to—the idea that life gets busier as our responsibilities grow. Perhaps for you, like Taylor, worship can be those small moments of prayer and reflection throughout the day, allowing you to stay connected to God even when life is hectic.
Teaching the Next Generation of Worshippers
Logan Cain says his personal worship has changed as he’s entered fatherhood. “I’m painfully aware that my daughter is listening and learning all the time—every day she’s picking up new words. So I’ve started taking advantage of Christian resources like The Bible Project and playing them around her, just like I would put on a kids’ show. It’s funny, because now I’m revisiting Bible stories and memory verses, and I’m learning along with her. This season is all about simplicity for me. Sometimes you think you need to read some big Christian book to grow in your faith, but honestly, just leaning into those simple things is helping me more than I thought it would.”
Logan’s journey of rediscovering Scripture alongside his daughter reminds us that worship is also about passing on our faith to the next generation. Whether through Bible stories, songs, or simple prayers, you can find ways to nurture the next generation’s faith and your own.
Worship can be simple, heartfelt, and woven into the everyday moments of life.
Prayer and Reciting Scripture
For Taylor, motherhood also provides an opportunity for evening moments of worship. “At night when I put Stevie to bed, I pray with her, and we say, ‘The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good.’ It’s a moment that really re-centers me because it’s not just about teaching her. I thank God every night—‘Thank You so much for my kid, for how awesome she is, and for the time I get to spend with her.’ These little prayers are a way for me to connect with God during such a busy season, and while it’s not the devotional I used to do, it’s working for me now.”
Worship can be simple, heartfelt, and woven into the everyday moments of life. It doesn’t have to follow a specific structure or routine to be meaningful—it’s about making the time you do have count.
“The people of God will always find their way to be with Him.” ~Logan Cain
Logan shared how he adapted his worship routine after seeing fellow musician Mac Powell’s dedication. “Mac Powell—he walks and prays every morning. I saw it for the first time on one of our tours, and it really humbled me. He walks the grounds of wherever we’re staying, and he’s not just doing it for exercise—he’s praying. That taught me that the people of God will always find their way to be with Him. It doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s worship routine, but you do need to find yours and stick with it. For me, it was a wake-up call. I’m not a walker, but seeing him prioritize that daily time with God challenged me to find my own way to do the same.”
If you’ve struggled to find time for worship we hope CAIN’s story serves to remind you that God doesn’t expect perfection. Whether it’s a bedtime prayer, listening to Scripture while you’re doing chores, or simply talking to God when the moment strikes, worship can happen in small, meaningful ways. It’s about being intentional and making time for God in the midst of it all—knowing that He’s always there, ready to meet you.
