I hail from the Lone Star State, where I was born and raised, and lived for 23 years. Please be kind if a “y’all” or a “fixin’ to” (ex. “I’m fixin’ to go get something to eat!”) slips out. These are ingrained in Texans from birth, and the therapy process to remove them from our vocabulary is long, painful, and quite expensive. I have lived all over the US (Florida, Alabama, Colorado, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina and California) and still haven’t managed to shake those words from my tongue.
I’m a work-casual gal married to a tatted up rocker boy. He’s the hokey to my pokey, and I’m so grateful that God chose him just for me! While we do have aspirations of fostering to adopt someday soon, we are currently parents to only fur babies. Our brood consists of two dogs and four cats, most of them rescues. (Don’t shop! Adopt!) Though, there have been times when we’ve had up to eleven animals – birds and a bearded dragon included – in the house. Our greatest unrealized dream to date is to own a sizable property that can house many different varieties of animals so that we can launch a faith-based version of The Gentle Barn in California, where they rehab animals who were plucked from abusive situations, and then bring troubled kids onto the farm to connect with them and find healing in their stories.
I’m crazy excited to be part of Family Life Radio, and would LOVE to hear from you!
