I have been married 41yrs in June. I feel my husband doesn't respect me and is verbally manipulative. He has issues with drinking and doesn't like people. I have always loved him but as we have aged his actions make me feel ashamed. He said he will not go to counseling and if I file for divorce he will fight for everything. I am so upset and know I have to leave it to the Lord. I need to stay close to my faith and pray for God to help me be the woman he wants me to be. I can't control my husband but I can pray. I feel numb inside.
