My son’s fiancé, who is expecting their first baby in December, suddenly perceives me as a treat. She expressed concern because he listens to me. She has started to close us out and separate us from them. While it is very hurtful, I am most concerned about her increasing control over my son. In six months she has gone from not wanting kids or marriage to pregnant and now getting married. A complicating factor is son’s dad and stepmom who were not around to help raise him - although lived just ten minutes away- now back in his life and I have learned say negative things about me, trying to drive a wedge. Very tough because I always encouraged my son to forgive and have open heart to relationship with his dad as I think it is an important relationship but now it is bitting me! Pray for my son and girlfriend’s eyes to be open, for my son to have courage to speak up for himself, and to listen to his gut instincts and God’s promptings. I have no problem backing away so he isn’t feeling in the middle but just want him to be OK.
