Today I went to see my daughter at the hospital. She has been suffering from depression ptsd for the past 4 years. She feels confident and shes back on her meds. God has really been working miracles in her and myself through Family Life and Intentional Living. Thank You all. But today I felt the pain suffering and dark place a person with mental illness lives in every day. I was overwhelmed by the story one patient named Debbie. She is an elderly women. Alone, homeless with no family. The hospital has been trying to locate her husband which is her only family and she does not want to be placed in a nursing home. My daughter and I prayed with her for God to find her Husband and find her a safe and loving home to be placed at. At the same time I got so overwhelmed with the Holy spirit working in another patient who looked sad broken and lost. I know I was there not only for my daughter but for the world that has been filled with an epidimic of mental hurt loneliness and brokenness. I was at a lose for words but as we prayed I broke down and cried. I am still shaken by the feeling of helplessness. Ive always been in the caregiving line of work and I can see the growing numbers of people who are looking for God and need that one person to fill there half full cup with the spoken words of life.
