Our marriage has reached critical mass and is on the verge of nuclear implosion. It is a long 'Jerry Springer' story, but God has rocked my world, healed and delivered me and told me to go home to my hubz. Right about that same time, satan slipped all up in his DM's and he met a woman. I 100% believe that God is going to miraculously restore our marriage as an example that it can never be too broken to be restored... No separation, no financial failure, no adultery can stop God's healing if both will just surrender their pride and pain at the foot of the cross and choose to love completely unconditionally as God does and always takes us back just like He demonstrated through Hosea and Gomer. Churches still cling to the Law of Moses decree of divorce. I did my research. It was only for the Jews and meant to be temporary as a way for Moses to "legislate morality" since divorce was so rampant in the camp. It was never a "law". It was more like the common day mask mandate. Yes, Jesus referenced it but he was also talking to the Jewish Pharisees. Gentiles were not allowed to divorce at all! If the mandate for divorce in the case of adultery was meant to last through the crucifixion of Christ and beyond, then the Gospel is a lie - it makes one certain sin worse than the others and unforgiveable by spouses and families. Granted, if the spouse does not repent, then yeah... unfortunate divorce. But if the spouse fully repents and is delivered, divorce should be the last of the last options and the church do all they can to snatch that marriage from the flames of hell! They should not be saying "biblical right to divorce" and the Christian spouse has "free will". Free will was given to chose God or not. When we come to Christ, our free will/flesh is crucified daily and submitted to God's perfect will. We lay down our rights and if we insist on keeping our "biblical right to divorce" is that not actually the sin of pride? If our will is submitted and our flesh crucified, shouldn't spouses be taking their repentant partner back more often than divorcing? Y'all my heart is terribly shattered over all this.... BUT GOD!
