My son attempted suicide last Thanksgiving when he had a houseful of friends. He hurt his best friend while the friend attempted to subdue him and take his gun. He chased after his wife as she left the house in the car with their young child. He was jailed for a few days and then submitted to an ankle bracelet. His wife (who suffers from PTSD before they knew each other) filed for a protective order. He does see his 2 year old child on weekends and has care of the child for that time. He has stopped drinking and attends AA. He cannot drive for a year. Most of his friends have abandoned him. Now he is facing the loss of his job in August, ( he is very good at his job and is just 5 years away from retiring from the military) because of what has happened.
He recently came back to his home state with his child for a family celebration on his father's side. He and his child spent 99% of the 5 days home with his father's family so he and I could not/did not talk about anything that has happened. When he did talk (at me) he was frustrated, critical and harsh.
Prayers would be so welcome for him and his family, forgiveness, family restoration, keeping his job, being able to support his family and most important to become a man after God's heart.
His 2 year old child is in the terrible twos--acts selfishly and hits. I don't know how much of this could be from living in an angry situation. Prayers for parenting skills for my son and his wife are appreciated and for their child's spirit.
