I have been singing in music ministries of all kinds since 1993.. We recently moved to another area and a new church home.. though I have been scheduled a few times...I see the church is moving toward only having younger singers...and I am being scheduled almost none now...I am upset because I serve, I give, I pray, I attend meetings...regularly...and it seems like the ones who get picked you never see at the meetings or anything else for that matter.. not that I am trying to earn my spot or wanting to be a star or the center of attention but its not right to those who are faithful to the Lord and to serving Him....I have spoken to the leaders about my singing...felt they skirted around my concerns and didn't get a clear answer...the bible says that our gifts and our call is irrevocable... but yet we have leaders in churches that often make decisions that are of the flesh... such as showing favoritism to the young... I am not against the young being used, but I believe we all should be used by the Lord with our gifts and talents... no matter the age... Do not muzzle the ox while it is trading out the grain.... I love my church and church family … but I am really burdened about this ...Please pray for me... as I still have a song to sing and a voice to use for His music and glory... Pray that if I cant sing there, that He will open doors for me...to keep singing...other places. while still serving at my church home. and that my heart doesn't get bitter.. or that I get depressed...I am sure that only those who have been there and are going through this will understand fully what my heart is saying...Bless you for praying for me...about this..
