Good morning, my name is Shyla. I am recently divorced, The divorce was not my idea, my ex-husband became an alcoholic and after a few years of separation I finally let go of the idea of the marriage getting any better. So I’m striking out on my own with my two children ages 22 and 12. I am trying to set a good example for both of my children to stay positive and trust that the Lord has a bigger plan not just for me but for them as well and ultimately us as a family. Sometimes depression tries to sneak in and I try to reach out to friends and family to talk it out and pray that there is a better life for me and my children, and also for my ex-husband. I don’t know what has hurt him enough to become an alcoholic, but his actions has affected our whole family our whole lives. But every day I get up blessed and so thankful that I have another chance to thank the Lord for all he has done for us, life is a balance of good and bad, something outrageously good is going to come out of this and I can’t wait.
