In 2014 I had my thyroid removed. Sadly a less than 1% chance of my para-thyroids being damaged happened.
Para-thyroids or PTH controls the body's calcium, magnesium, potassium and helps clean phosphorus out of the body. My body no longer can do these things. For five long years, the doctors did not know how to treat this rare condition and slowly hurt my kidneys and more. In the fall of 2018 I started a medicine and it gave me back almost 50% of my quality of life (I call that a miracle!) I was able to get out of my mobility scooter and walk again, climb my basement stairs again and care for my two small children (I am only 38 years old with a 2 and 4 year old).
Natpara was recalled by the drug company two months ago. I just ran out of my drug and my doctor is grasping at straws on how to treat me. This is a scary condition because it gives Stroke-like symptoms and can kill me.
I know that The Lord loves me very much and I have asked him to heal my body. I know I am not alone. I have Jesus and I have all of you amazing prayer warriors. BUT today, I ask for help with stabilizing my body and for hope that my drug comes back ASAP or a better one will come to light that can treat me. I pray for more time with my kind husband and for guidance to raise my little girls so they love The Lord and are able to take care of themselves. Please do not let my illness make them question God....because I don't question him. He did not do this to me, but he is helping me every step of the way. I love you Jesus!
