Please pray for my daughter (36) today. She has had a lot of past trauma that she has never dealt with or got therapy for. Her biological father left when I was pregnant and they have never met. I married and he adopted her. We divorced because he became an addict and they really don’t speak anymore. As a result her drinking has gotten to be a very serious problem. She is in a relationship (engaged) to an alcoholic (somehow highly functioning) which has made it even worse. She now has a baby which makes everything all the more complicated. She is a wonderful mother and loves her baby dearly. But I feel she is searching for something to fill the giant hole in her heart. Older men (father figure?), material things, money, a child, drinking. I have tried to encourage her to go to church, to have a relationship with God but she does not. It is so hard to watch her go down this path when I know the answer is Jesus.
My youngest daughter (22) and niece are visiting her this weekend and are going to confront her. I have talked to her in the past but it didn’t help as she thinks I’m judging her. I am just so worried. She is so unhappy but pretends to be “fine”. She doesn’t like to talk about her emotions, never has. Except sometimes when she’s drinking.
I am asking for prayers that God open her heart and that He gives the girls the right words. I pray that God bring the right people into her life and that she will begin to heal.
