A Year with Aslan from Prince Caspian
We’ve all had days when we need a little extra grace. In the midst of a great battle, & we find out Giants aren’t all that clever. & it says Wimbleweather had …
Broken out at the wrong time & from the wrong place, & both his party & Caspian’s had suffered badly & done the enemy little harm. Wimbleweather felt so bad he sat in silence, crying big tears, that rained down on & soaked all the mice there. Even has he went away, he kept stepping on things & getting bitten..
Too often we judge ourselves on our intentions & others on their actions. So if you’re the one in need of grace today, give it. & if it’s someone else, give even more & remember they’re created in His image too.
Ransomed Heart Devotion
Stepping out in faith is how we find out who we really are. In The Sacred Romance, John Eldredge writes…
Deep within the Arrows stay until someone comes along with the power to take them away. Identity isn’t something that falls on us out of the sky – identity is bestowed. We think we’ve got to keep doing something in order to be desirable. & so we live with the fear of not being chosen, or we form a commitment to never be in a place where we can foul things up. But that’s not the real you.
Phillip Yancey ~ What’s So Amazing About Grace?
The kingdom of God thrives where its subjects follow the desires of the King.
Brennan Manning ~ The Ragamuffin Gospel
Rationalization begins with a look in the mirror. We don’t like the sight of ourselves as we really are, so we try cosmetics, makeup, the right light, & the proper accessories to develop an acceptable image of ourselves – [but that’s precisely what] prevents us from seeing ourselves as we really are.
Bob Goff ~ Love Does
When you’re with someone you trust, you don’t need to know everything.
Jay Milbrandt ~ go + do
Watch the joy of others. Seeing others truly happy can be enchanting. & may be just the thing to make you come alive.
Don Miller ~ Blue Like Jazz
Satan wants us to believe meaningless things for meaningless reasons. Can you imagine if Christians actually believed God was trying to rescue them?
