Don’t Wait for the Perfect Conditions

If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. God’s ways are as mysterious as the pathway of the wind and as the manner in which a human spirit is infused into the little body of a baby while it is yet in its mother’s womb.

─ Ecclesiastes 11:4-5 TLB

Don’t Wait for the Perfect Conditions

“Snow rollers,” an interesting and rare phenomenon, occurs under the right conditions. They look similar to tumble weeds but are formed with a very unique combination of gravity, a light, sticky snow and just the right amount of wind. It can only happen when the bottom layer of snow is loose and wet with a little ice and powder snow situated directly below. Snow rollers can vary in size from several inches tall to several feet.

You have to wait for the perfect conditions to witness the splendor of such a rare event.

Our verse today clearly says not to wait for the perfect conditions to grow in our spiritual lives. God’s ways are as mysterious as the wind or as unfathomable as the miracle of life that grows in the womb.

  • If you wait for the perfect time to cultivate your spiritual growth, like Bible study and personal quiet time with God, you’ll never really begin.
  • If you wait to find the perfect church, it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever become a part of a spiritual community.
  • If you wait for the perfect time to get involved in serving others, you’ll never use the talents and gifts God has given you for His body.

Don’t wait for perfect conditions. Perfect conditions are phenomenons, like the snow rollers. They are rare and seldom seen.

Today’s One Thing

Are you waiting for the perfect conditions today? If you’ve thought, I’ll do that when …, then it’s time to step up and step out of your comfort zone. Look at the three bullet points above. Choose one of those to act on today. Set a goal and begin it. Or maybe you need to take action on something you know God wants you to do. Take action today.
