Happy Healthy Helping

Did you know volunteering is good for your health?

A study published in JAMA Pediatrics shows a drop in cholesterol levels for those who volunteered.

Blood pressure levels are also lower for those who volunteer. A study in the Journal Psychology and Aging shows people who volunteered were 40% less likely to develop hypertension than those who help others.

Helping others raises your level of happiness. A study from the University of California shows people get a boost of dopamine when volunteering. Dopamine is a chemical that creates a sense of well-being.

Family Life Radio Member Linda enjoys volunteering to help those grieving at her church.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
