Dispelling the Shadow of Fear

You’ve seen a child that had no fear at some point. They’ve not yet had enough failures to be afraid of failing or falling. But over time, pains and disappointments bring an aversion to our confidence.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.
─ Psalm 27:3 ESV

When it comes to your faith in God, fear is only a dark shadow that tries to deceive you into believing that no light can penetrate the circumstances you’re facing.

The psalmist encouraged himself with the words in today’s verses:

  • The Lord is my light and my salvation;
  • he protects me from danger—
  • whom shall I fear?
  • When evil men come to destroy me, they will stumble and fall!
  • Yes, though a mighty army marches against me, my heart shall know no fear!
  • I am confident that God will save me.

Let your confidence in God dispel the darkness.

When you turn your face toward heaven, and your heart to trust in God, then you see the light. It opens your eyes to reveal fear is only a shadow, quickly dispelled in the light of God’s love for you.
