Faith Is Now

While teaching His disciples about forgiveness and faith, Jesus’ example was to forgive someone who sinned against them seven times in one day. The disciples said, “Increase our faith” (Luke 17:5). They truly wanted to know and do whatever was necessary to give and receive radical forgiveness.

So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
─ Luke 17:6 NKJV

But Jesus’ response, found in our verse today, let them know it wasn’t about the amount of faith you have, but the genuineness of your faith. Jesus said even the tiniest amount of faith can pull a tree up by its roots and toss it into the sea.

Faith is complete confidence in God, depending on Him for everything and a willingness to do what He ask of you. A mustard seed is small, alive and growing, just as your faith should always be. As a seed sprouts, it is invisible under the ground. But eventually it springs up for all to see.

Your faith is alive and should always be growing.

As you feed your faith on God’s Word, you will grow, but you don’t have to wait until your faith is fully matured for God to respond to you. He will meet you where you’re at in your walk with Him.
