Go in the Strength You Have

Are you anxiously waiting for what’s next? We often search for God’s plan for our lives, expecting that answer to drop from the sky. The Bible gives us a great perspective on how God leads and guides us from the lives shared in its pages.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
─ Psalm 32:8 ESV

Gideon’s story is just one example told in Judges chapters 6 through 8. Gideon was hard at work on the threshing floor when God gave him his assignment. Gideon asked God why He didn’t do anything about the problems he and his countrymen had with their neighboring countries. They invaded their lands, ruined their crops and brought God’s people to the point of poverty.

Gideon’s people blamed God, when in fact they had forgotten him. “The Lord turned to [Gideon] and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” (Judges 6:14 NIV).

Gideon had everything he needed to successfully defeat the enemy, God promised to be with him. In our verse today, the Lord says He will instruct you, teach you and show you the way He wants you to go. He will always have His eyes focused on you.

PQ: Your strength comes from God.

Sometimes we feel like we need something more than what we have to move toward what God asks us to do. But we have all we need because our strength comes from God. It is in Him that we live and move. In Him is where we exist as His children.

Today’s One Thing

Continue to do what you know to do and expect God to lead you in His strength. Be watchful to hear and know when it’s time to move in a new direction in Him.
