Never Forget to Say “Thank You!”

Friends don’t let friends miss an opportunity from God. In the book of Acts, we find the crippled man who relied on his friends to help him make it to the temple gate each day to beg for whatever people would give him.

So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
─ Acts 3:8-9 NKJV

On a particular day, the crippled man’s friends brought him to the temple gate, as they did each day. Peter and John were on their way to the temple to pray. When the crippled man asked for something from them, Peter gave him so much more than money. He took the opportunity to share the message of Christ with him, as well as the rest of the crowd that day.

Peter then took him by the right hand and helped him to stand. Immediately, he found strength in his ankle bones and feet that had not been there. The man stood up and walked into the temple with Peter and John—walking, leaping and praising God.

Always give thanks to those who help you!

All the people who saw him walking joined in praise to God. They knew him as a part of their community, and they wondered at the miracle they saw with their own eyes.

Had his friends not helped him, he would not have been where he needed to be to receive his healing from God. It’s important to always thank those who help you in whatever way they can.

Today’s One Thing

Think about those who pray for you and speak words of encouragement to you. Who do you count on to be there for you? Thank God for them and then write a note of thanks to them today.
