Do It In Faith

When have you done something with reluctance and trepidation? Perhaps you pushed yourself because you believed you could. You hiked farther than you ever had or waded into the ocean for the first time. Your emotions ran high, unsure of how it would go.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
─ Isaiah 43:2-3 ESV

But then, you climbed up that mountain or swam in the ocean and accomplished that thing you weren’t quite sure you could do, and it was exhilarating. You felt a great sense of achievement. You faced the unknown and overcame it.

God promised to bring you through it.

Faith is like that. In our verse today, God Himself has promised the waters you travel through will not drown you, and the fires you walk through will not burn you. You have His word – you’re going to make it.

As God leads you to do a thing, you trust Him to bring you through to the other side. Whatever He desires for you to accomplish, you can do it because He’s promised you can if you do it by faith.

Today’s One Thing
Declare these words in faith today –
God, you are bringing me through troubled waters; you are walking with me through the fire. I believe in you. I will make it through because you never fail me!
