Beyond Your Brokenness

You have to break an egg before it can be purposeful. The outer shell is not very useful. A deliberate crack of an egg is necessary to cook with it. A boiled egg needs to be broken before you can eat it; and a baby chicken has to break out of the shell before it can thrive in the world.

“…the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you.”
─ 1 Corinthians 11:23-24 NKJV

No one would normally choose to be broken, but Jesus did! He chose brokenness because it was the only way to bridge the gap between you and the Father. At the Last Supper, the night before He was betrayed, He said to those around the table, “This is my body, broken for you.”

Brokenness looks differently to each person. For some, it’s the fear of the unknown, a feeling of being lost or alone, pain from something done to you or something taken from you. It’s hurt, pain, persecution, bitterness or grief.

Beyond your brokenness, God has healing, restoration and purpose for you!

Our world prefers the shiny and new over the broken things in this life. If you find yourself at your breaking point in life, or feel like you’re already broken, Satan will tell you that God has no purpose for you because you’re cracked or damaged. God often uses broken hearts and shattered lives to fulfill His purpose.

Through His touch, you’ll find healing and restoration. Beyond your brokenness, God has a great purpose for you!

Today’s One Thing
