His Light Is Always Stronger

Ellie Holcomb, an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter, sat down with Family Life Radio earlier this summer and shared, “I really experience God through His Word, but I see Him so much in creation. For the nights, especially when I feel totally full of doubt, fear of pain and ask, ‘God, where are you?’ I’m so grateful that we can come as we are [to Him] with our lament, our grief and our questions.”

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. ─ Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

Because of Jesus, you are always accepted, heard and seen – even in the broken places.

Ellie continued, “For me, I come back to the stars. When I was in the Grand Canyon on the river bank, a guy said just before we went to sleep, ‘Just so you know tonight, when you go to sleep, this this is going to be the darkest place that you will ever be because you’re over a mile into the surface of the earth. There’s no ambient light around. But because it is so dark, the stars are going to shine brighter than they’ve ever shown before. They’re going to appear closer to you.’”

You can always come boldly before God the Father.

Ellie said she woke up in the middle of that dark place and experienced the stars. “It was
like they were right in front of my face. And that is what I have experienced of
God’s love. Even in the darkest places, His light is always stronger.”

Ellie shared, “When I’m having a really hard time believing God is Who He says He is, I try to get outside and look up at the sky to be reminded that light is always stronger than the dark.”

Today’s One Thing

Think about the sacrifice Jesus made for you. He would have given His life to restore you to the Father, even if you’d been the only person on the planet. No matter what you’re going through God loves you, accepts you, hears you and sees you. Take time today to share with Him and allow Him to shine His light into the darkness you may be experiencing.
