Bring Them to Jesus

Who brought you to Jesus? Was it a friend or a family member? A co-worker? A neighbor? In many of the scenes leading up to Christ’s miracles, people brought those with a need to Jesus, so that He might heal them. In our verse today, they brought a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment to Jesus and begged Him to lay hands on him. 

Then he returned from the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis. And they brought to him a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment, and they begged him to lay his hand on him.

─ Mark 7:31-32 ESV

We don’t know if they were friends or family, neighbors or coworkers; but they knew Jesus could heal, so they helped get the man to Jesus for healing. 

As you think about who brought you to Jesus, also consider – who have you brought Christ? Salvation is part of a process of planting the seed, watering and hopefully the harvest. Have you had a chance to plant, or water or harvest?

It’s privilege to bring others to Jesus!

Bringing someone to Jesus doesn’t have to be done literally. You don’t have to take them to church, or to some sort of conference. Some people have used Christian radio to introduce their friends to Jesus. You don’t necessarily have to sit down with them face-to-face and share your faith. Although all of those things can be helpful. 

You can bring them to Jesus in prayer. One man recently shared he has two families of kids that lost both of their parents. He knew them very well when they were young. But now they are orphans and hundreds of miles away from him. He prays for them; he brings them to Jesus in prayer.

Today’s One Thing

Who is God prompting you to bring to Jesus today? Ask Him to show you who you should pray for. Then be open and willing to obey Him when He leads you to share Christ with them in whatever way that is.
