Peaceful Trust

As you kick off your new year with a great start, consider the best formula for keeping you focused on what the Lord wants you to accomplish. Prayer and trust in the Lord are crucial to your peace and success.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

– Proverbs 3:5 ESV

Trusting in the Lord requires a constant inner decision to believe, not to allow your mind to wander frivolously on things that are not aligned with God’s plan for you. When you leave the safety of the Lord and roam into a mindless abyss with your thoughts, the enemy tries to convince you of lies, doubts and fears to create chaos in your thinking and ultimately in your life.

God wants you to be fully aware of the enemy’s plans to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10), which means taking your peace and creating chaos. When your actions and thought life are led by the Holy Spirit, you will automatically demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These fruits grow and are demonstrated when you willingly spend time with the Lord, align your heart issues with His Word and pray. The more you trust in the Lord, the less you are distracted by the enemy, and the more peace you will have.

The fruits of the Spirit flow from you when you trust the Lord with all your heart.

The world is filled with distractions, and the enemy uses those distractions to capture your thoughts and entice you to travel a path that detours you from God’s journey for you. God has a plan for you to experience a life filled with His peace.

A successful year filled with His peace comes as you trust Him. Trust Him when your road is delightful, and especially when it gets bumpy.
