Press Toward the Future

Most success comes from moving forward with goals and ambitions. It’s a matter of having a dream and becoming passionate about your vision. Those who move forward and do not linger in the past thrive as they develop new aims and press on. It’s rarely an easy step, but it must be taken to receive the goodness God desires for you.

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

– Philippians 3:14 ESV

As you implement Paul’s teaching and press forward with new ambitions and fulfillment of your current goals, you must be willing to live in the present and let your request be made known to God. By making your requests known and asking for the Father’s direction, He will guide you in His plans and help you fulfill your desires.

Before making your requests known to God, ask for His forgiveness from your sins and for the alignment of your desires with His. You are forgiven when you ask for forgiveness because of Christ’s blood and sacrifice.

God doesn’t continually remind you of your past failures. Memories of past mistakes are caused by an unwillingness to forgive yourself and allowing the enemy to speak his thoughts into your mind. God forgives you of your mistakes and has a beautiful future for you.

God desires to do a wondrous work in you.

While you may have scars from the past, the Father will forgive you and provide you wisdom from these errors. He will offer you a new freedom that unshackles you to press onward toward new ambitions He gives you.

The road to new ambitions and goals established by your passionate desires is a prayerful moment away. Align yourself with the Lord and listen to His directions. He wants to give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).

Today’s One Thing

Let your desires and requests be made known to the Lord and be willing to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Your prayer time is yours for the present so you can press toward the future.
