God Hears You

Doubts and fears are a normal, human experience. Even David, the one God called “a man after my own heart,” felt locked out of God’s presence at times, and many of those moments are shared in the Psalms he wrote. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest” (Psalm 22:1-2 ESV).

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
– Jeremiah 29:12-13 ESV

You have God’s personal promise – many times in His Word – that He hears you. The verse today is one of those promises. He hears us when we pray.
1 Trust His truth.
2 Refuse the lie that He’s not there; not listening.
3 Open the door to His presence through prayer, psalms and praise.
4 Recount the times you cried out to Him and He heard you.
5 Tell Him what you need.

Open the door to God’s presence and trust Him to hear you when you pray.

“God, I need you,” is a cry of your heart to proclaim to Him your heart. Open the door to God’s presence and trust Him to hear you when you pray.

God wants to hear your heart. He wants to help you process the pain, eradicate the fear and help you navigate your emotions and fulfill your purpose.

Today’s One Thing
Take God at His Word today. Believe His promise to hear you. Follow the steps 1-5 in your quiet time today. Then purposefully wait in His presence.
