Peace in The Unknown with Evvie McKinney

In an interview with singer and songwriter Evvie McKinney, she said, “Being intentional with your relationship with God is the most important thing you can ever do with your life.”

She shared with Family Life Radio that she has learned she cannot do anything else except serve God with her life. He is the One who will provide incomprehensible peace in troubled times.

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.
– Psalm 62:8 ESV

You can have the peace of God even when there are things you cannot understand.

Do you find yourself asking, “Why?” and searching for the answers to explain the reasons people make the decisions they make? Or do you spend time researching for all the right answers, hoping to find security in understanding the reasons for why things happen the way they do?

Humans are made with the desire to make sense of their lives and find answers. All people face things they do not entirely understand. These are the mysteries of the life God blessed us with. There are things we are not capable of understanding.

Daniel found this out when he was trying to understand the meaning of a vision God gave him. In Daniel 8:27, it says he was overcome and lay sick for days and still did not understand. God, of course, fully knows His reasons for giving the vision and for including it and others in His Word.

Peace is found in trusting God who understands all things.

We can spend much time and energy trying to figure out the reasons, but true peace is found in trusting God with things you do not understand.

You serve a mighty God who understands all things and you can trust Him with the things you do not. Your ultimate peace is not found in understanding everything, but in trusting the One who does. Through the reading of God’s Word and His Holy Spirit, He reveals what He wants you to know and understand in His perfect timing.

Today’s One Thing
