God Knows What You Need

Even when you’re rambling along naïve to your future needs, God has your back.

My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
– Philippians 4:19 ESV

The young couple were excited about their move to another state to begin their first job out of college. They were naïve about the costs that awaited them. But God knew, and He placed on the heart of a family member the desire to give them some cash for their move.

They were surprised and blessed by this seemingly out-of-nowhere gift from someone they assumed knew very little about their situation. They were thankful and went on their merry way thinking the extra cash might come in handy.

God knows your needs before you do. He goes before you in His provision.

When the couple arrived at their destination, they were shocked to realize that the apartments in the new state did not come with refrigerators. The cost to move in took all their savings with the required deposit and first and last month’s rent.

The couple gave thanks to God for the cash their family member gave them. They had no idea what they were getting into, but God knew, and He went before them. To this day, whenever they are concerned about finances, they remember how God prepared the way for them with His perfect provision.

Today’s One Thing
Give thanks to God for His provision so far this year. Give Him any worries you have about your future needs. Do the next thing He directs you to do. Choose to trust Him.
