Angels All Around

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him.

— 2 Chronicles 32:7

Emily stepped off the curb and crossed the street as she and her little dog started their morning walk. She loved the opportunity to get out on a Saturday for a nice, quiet prayer walk. As she began to pray, she felt a strong sense that she should pray for her niece Leah and her three small children. She began to ask God to guide them, keep them and protect them. She spent a little extra time in prayer just for them and then went on about her day.

Early that afternoon she received a text from Leah’s mother. leah and the kids were in a car wreck. leah thinks everyone is okay. On the way to the hospital.

Emily texted back, prayed this morning. praying again.

A few hours later Leah called. “Aunt Emily, everyone is fine. It’s a miracle. My car is totaled. I never saw the other car as I pulled onto the highway. The first responders on the scene were shocked to find us all alive with only a few cuts and bruises. They expected internal injuries or worse. But God . . .” Leah’s voice broke and Emily could tell she was crying.

“I know God protected you all,” Emily said softly into the phone. “I don’t always pray for you and the kids, but today I did. I felt like God wanted me to pray specifically for your protection. I even asked Him to send angels to cover you and keep you from harm. I am so thankful He did.”

God promises to keep us in all our ways. We may not see the spiritual forces at work, but we often see evidence that the enemy’s plans to kill and destroy have been supernaturally avoided. God is fighting for each of us, and He has an entire heavenly army backing us up.
