Rest Stops

The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

─ Psalm 121:7-8

It’s important for each of us to delight in the life that God has given us. Too often we can feel an urgency to continually push to the next season because we’re not content. We can get in a hurry to get to the next space because we think it will be better. And if we take a look back, we can find we’ve spent much of our lives in a hard run forward feeling like we’ve never arrived at that destination we imagined.

Every season we travel has its own set of challenges. Constant interruptions and unexpected difficulties fill our already “way-too-full” life to overflowing. It’s important to face each day as a gift from God. He desires for us, not to just enjoy the ride, but to pull off at rest stops along the way and experience the beauty of the journey.

We were created to fully experience the small moments, not just the big celebrations.
